Quotes from Andrea

The horses I trained and showed at the beginning of my career are the ones that I give a lot of credit to. Maybe they were not the most talented of the horses that I have ever ridden but they had a tough life. I practiced everything that came to my mind on them and they got ridden hard a lot, harder then what I ride my horses today and they still ended up showing good for me and putting my name on the map.

NQH Little Jac

Little Jac

NQH Little Jac is one of the most interesting horses I've ever been around. He had a lot of energy all the time and he never felt broke until I walked in the show pen. I never felt ready to show him but he turned out to be a true show horse. He's different then any horse I've ever trained because he never conformed to a certain style and he always did things his own way. No matter if I showed him at a weekend show or in the Futurity finals he always gave me his best and I'm really proud of him. He taught me that no matter how much you think your program is good sometimes it's just better to let the horse tell you how he wants to do it.

RR STAR

Andrea & RR StarI think that anyone that has won the Open Futurity holds the horse they won on in a special place in their heart. Diamond made me work for everything I wanted out of him and that is probably why it was so special to get it at the end. I remember that during the training I always thought I was behind of where I should have been but for some reason everything just came together right at the end. I was at the futurity and I thought to myself: "This horse is getting better and better every time I ride him, as if he almost knows that this is the most important moment of his life coming up. In the finals he gave me everything he had and then again in the run off. After the run off he was dehydrated and got sick for some time and I've never been so appreciative for what a horse had given me so much in my life.

Big Chex To Cash

Andrea & Big Chex

He's been such a fun horse to be part of. I had to adapt my program in order to fit him. He's a super sensitive horse and really makes you think when you ride him. He's always honest in the show pen, but can be challenging to train because he can feel like a completely different horse from one day to another. I respect him a lot because he keeps on showing at his best and still enjoys his job like a young horse. I'm now riding his offspring and I'm super excited about them. I think that he's going to be a great sire and I can't wait to see what the future will be for him.

Custom Legend

Andrea & Custom LegendLegend is one of the best horses I've been around. I started riding him when he was four and I showed him for three years. He's one of these horses that just kept getting better with age. He's a big and extremely powerful horse, and I loved showing him. I showed him three times at the NRBC and we were second the first and the second year and won it the last time. That win was pretty special because we set an NRHA record score of 236.5 after a great run off. I think that that was the best run I've ever had. Legend is a great horse to be around and has a mind that wants to work with you.

Cromed Out Mercedes (Curly)

Andrea & Cromed Out MercedesEven though he is a young horse, he is already one of my favorites. I won the NRBC on him this year and I'm really enjoying being part of his career. I think that his best quality is his mind. You can push him as hard as you want and he is always there for you. He is the easiest horse that I've ever had to train. I don't think that I've ever had a day on him where he said no to me and as long as he understands what you want he always tries for you. I think that he has a great future in front of him, both as a show horse and in the breeding barn.
